Male Enhancement; Link Between Masturbation & Testosterone

Male Enhancement; Masturbation is a natural way to feel pleasure by exploring your body, but you might be wondering whether it could affect your testosterone levels. The short answer to this question? No. Studies haven't shown that ejaculation or masturbation have any long-term or negative effects on testosterone levels.

But the longer answer isn't quite that simple. Whether conducted alone or with a partner, masturbation can have a variety of effects on T levels, though these tend to be short-term.

What do the findings of the research say?

Testosterone is linked to your sexual drive, known as libido. This is true for both men and women; it has a more direct effect on males, however.

The T levels naturally rise during masturbation and sex, then fall back to normal after orgasm.

Ejaculating after masturbation doesn't affect serum T levels directly, according to a small study from 1972. This means that serum T levels don't decrease with more masturbation, as some people have assumed.

According to one 2001 study of male enhancement, refraining from masturbation for 3 weeks caused a mild increase in T. Conflicting studies regarding the effect of masturbation on hormone receptors further cloud the picture.

Several studies conducted on rats in 2007 found that frequent masturbation decreased androgen receptors in the brain. Androgen receptors regulate the body's use of testosterone. Meanwhile, a 2007 study on rats found that frequent masturbation decreased estrogen receptor density. The implications of these findings on humans are unclear.

My muscle building will be affected by masturbation?

Because testosterone assists muscles in synthesizing protein, it helps them build muscle.

It won't stop you from building muscle if you follow a healthy muscle-building regimen because masturbation only affects testosterone levels in a short-term way.

There is no clinical evidence showing that refraining from masturbation or sexual activity before working out will help you build muscle faster.
